PHILOSOPHY

The visual art has often been conceived as a humanistic and technological field where the individual may acquire skills in drawing, painting, sculpture and industrial design. This is because a relationship is now being developed between the visual arts, science and technology, which challenges the restricted role of the artist in the society’s development. For the full potential of visual arts to be realized, the Fine and Applied Arts Programme should be designed to produce artist with sound mind and technological skills who will be able to cope with current development globally. Thus this Programme includes subjects such as science and technology of materials, industrial design, production and processes, and computer applications in art.
