  1. CONTRIBUTIONS OF PUBLICATIONS TO KNOWLEDGE

The thrust of my research has been in the area of energy, exergy, exergoeconomic and sustainable energy development. Specifically, I have applied energy, exergy and exergoeconomic analysis in the areas of household, production processes as well as gas and steam turbine power plant. Basically, the main goal is to improve the process efficiency and reduce the environmental impact on the environment. Also the knowledge of exergoeconomics and exergoenvironemtal analysis have been applied in some of my research work. In the research areas of energy and exergy analysis, I have improved the efficiency of vegetable oil refining production process. Also, I have also improved the efficiency of steam and gas power plant for a much higher electricity output using this tool.

In the area of sustainable energy, the environmental impacts of vehicular emissions have been investigated. Furthermore, the inventory of greenhouse gases emissions from gasoline and diesel have been investigated so that it can serve as based line information for the country.

My work also applied the knowledge of computer programming to investigate the viscous flow in pipe as well as the effect of random walk of fractal image constituent. In the area of safety, my work investigate the effect of lifting related problems among women and further research was carried out on the effect of heat stress illness among workers. I am also engaged in the fabrication of engineering devices from locally sourced engineering materials. A hammer milling machine has been fabricated locally.

In my PhD thesis, I improved steam and gas turbine power plant. The research demonstrated the application of energy, exergy, exergoenvironmental and exergoecomic tool. In this study, thermodynamic models were developed, standard economic and environmental models were used. The derived models were then written with a MAT LAB computer program for this investigation.

My PhD thesis addressed the major problem of electricity generation as well as its associated environmental impact. Specifically, my PhD thesis centered on reducing the production cost and increasing the generation of electricity of power plants.
